Goshen Church Pollinator Garden
A Pollinator Garden is beneficial for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. It's a garden filled with nectar-rich plants designed to attract and nourish these essential creatures, ensuring the health and reproduction of various plant species.
Over the weekend, I went and helped this community fix up their pollinator garden that was in desperate need of some TLC. To prep the garden, I laid down cardboard to smother weeds and afterward I carefully spread mulch across the garden pathways, creating a neat and uniform layer to keep things looking tidy and weed-free. My group and I finished before our time was up so we ended up helping the bigger community garden that was for the public. We weeded the extra plots that were going to be used for vegetables in the future and helped put manure on them.
My co-founder, Abby, and I had an incredible experience when we met a seasoned gardener while working on our garden club project. This generous woman shared a wealth of tips and guidance with us on how to kickstart our garden effectively. She not only recommended which plants would be best for beginners but also offered insights into making our garden manageable and flourishing. Our conversation was so engaging that she even shared her email address with us, wanting to stay connected and follow our gardening journey. Her curiosity about our project and her willingness to offer guidance and support were both inspiring and reassuring.
