Community Greenway Cleanup

After my Earth Day volunteering, I wanted to do more. I decided to sign up for some community service on the weekend, so I signed up for community greenway cleanup. We walked about 4 miles and picked up all of the litter we found laying on the boardwalk, on the street and in the forest. The path was very beautiful and it took us through some very serene places.

“The Litchfield Community Greenway runs along the former Shepaug Railway rail-bed in the Town of Litchfield… There is a 400-foot boardwalk, which runs along the Bissell Road wetlands to the entrance into the nature preserve. Volunteers built this section in the fall of 2021 and it includes a crosswalk with solar-powered crossing lights.”
